North
Clackamas High School
The new North Clackamas
High School project is located at 122nd and Summer Lane in
Clackamas, Oregon. The structure
consists of a high school for 1,800 students, parking lots, landscaping and irrigation around the building and
throughout the parking lot areas.
The
building uses the pod concept with an academic wing housing, general
classrooms, science and computer rooms, a media center and business
department. The center area of the building contains a commons,
cafeteria and food service, administration and counseling offices as
well as the special education department.
The
arts and technical education area contains a 600-seat auditorium,
choral and instrument rooms, art, home arts and shops. The physical
education area includes two gymnasiums, locker and shower rooms,
wrestling room, weight training and entry lobbies to the large gym.
The
school is being built on 41 acres and is 250,000 square feet.
The
North Clackamas High School project uses cutting-edge technologies
in terms of daylighting, energy efficiency, ventilation and other
environmental factors. The National Energy Foundation has selected
the school as one of four projects across the country to serve as a
model of energy efficiency.
Compass
